Brief information about our research program can be found by following the Research link. You can check out our Publications and recent presentations and meet our current and past Group members.

We are a young group and we welcome motivated students and researchers. Read on for details!

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

If you are interested in research in our lab, please e-mail me to arrange a meeting to discuss your interests and possible research projects. UMKC students can take their first steps in our lab by taking CHEM 395, 399, 495, or 499 for research credit or by volunteering. Paid summer positions can be available after that.

PROSPECTIVE GRADUATE STUDENTS

If you are seeking a PhD or MS degree, feel free to e-mail me to discuss your background and research interests.

Most of the pertinent information about our graduate programs and application process are on our graduate recruitment page. Our senior secretary, Ms. Florence Middleton (middletonf@umkc.edu), can help with the information regarding application and admission. Please note that to start the PhD program in the Summer or Fall of 2010, applications should be complete by February 2010. That includes all test scores (TOEFL and GRE), recommendation letters etc. If you are an international student, your application must first go through the International Students Affairs Office. After they deem it complete, your file is forwarded to the Chemistry Graduate Recruiting Committee, which makes the final decision on admission.

The Chemistry Department has a limited number of teaching assistantships for incoming graduate students. Prof. Jerry Yanching Jean is a chair of the Chemistry Graduate Recruiting Committee during 2009-2010. Please contact him if you need any help with the application process. Also, do not hesitate to contact me directly if you need information about status of your application, once you apply.

PROSPECTIVE POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS
